Led the integration of GitLab's Language Server into the browser-based Web IDE, designing cross-platform abstractions to bring AI-powered Code Suggestions to constrained browser environments. The project enabled a 4,000-user GitLab Duo expansion for a major enterprise customer.

Architected and implemented secure Web IDE support for air-gapped GitLab installations. Designed customer-managed extension domains and route-scoped Rails middleware to preserve browser security isolation without relying on external SaaS infrastructure, unblocking GitLab 18.0 upgrades for major enterprise customers.

Plugin architecture and cross-team product development
Helped shape GitLab Duo Chat's extensible architecture through design reviews and technical mentorship, then implemented plugin registries for message widgets and slash commands. These extension points enabled other engineering teams, including Agent Catalog, to integrate new AI capabilities into Duo Chat.

Resilient streaming and reliable developer feedback
Improved GitLab Duo Chat reliability through two initiatives: redesigning WebSocket error handling and recovery, reducing daily reported connection errors by 86% in an initial comparison; and replacing flaky browser tests with focused integration coverage, eliminating a source of CI instability previously associated with 66 blocked pipelines.
